By fusing immune B lymphocytes and myeloma cells into hybridoma cells, the resulting hybrid cells have the genetic characteristics of both parent cells, which can secrete antibodies like B lymphocytes and proliferate indefinitely like myeloma cells, successfully overcoming the problem of short survival cycle of B lymphocytes in vitro.
