PK/PD-modelling is important in establishing and evaluating dose-response relationship and subsequently in describing and predicting the effect-time course for a drug dose. A strong relationship between drug exposure, target modulation and antitumor efficacy significantly improves the accuracy in drug candidate selection and helps to design the most appropriate clinical studies to demonstrate target engagement.
